Lending & Finance
The Firm’s lending and secured transactions practice group has experience in a broad range of lending and financing transactions representing banks and other financial institutions in debt financing transactions. The Firm is regularly engaged by developers, commercial banks and other lenders, real estate agents, and mortgage companies in a variety of residential and commercial lending transactions. The Firm also has practitioners experienced in advising clients such as commercial banks and other lenders regarding the exercise of their remedies upon default, including foreclosure. The Firm’s commercial lending and finance practice group includes practitioners with significant experience assisting secured lenders in obtaining adequate protection and otherwise exercising their remedies when borrowers seek protection in bankruptcy court.
Development & Construction
The Firm represents its clients in all types of development and construction of commercial, residential, industrial and retail projects throughout the southeast. The Firm provides legal representation in all phases of development including financing, construction contracting and litigation, leasing matters, zoning and permitting. The Firm has practitioners with significant experience in construction defect litigation, including the representation of general contractors in litigation with bonding companies and insurers with respect to such claims. The Firm also has significant experience in prosecuting and defending against lien claims and appealing real estate tax assessments.
