Marc Taylor is a founding member of Taylor-Busch and is the firm’s labor and employment practice group leader. Mr. Taylor left private practice in 1995 to become employment counsel for Medaphis Corporation (now Per-Se Technologies, Inc.). From 1997-2005, Mr. Taylor was a partner at Powell Goldstein, LLP, one of Atlanta and Washington D.C.’s largest and most respected law firms.
In his law practice, Mr. Taylor typically represents management in disputes involving the employer-employee relationship. He has represented employers in federal and state court jurisdictions throughout the United States. Mr. Taylor handles matters ranging from individual and class action discrimination lawsuits to state law defamation and tort claims. He has been a frequent speaker at seminars that focus on topics involving a full range of employment relationship issues.
In addition, Mr. Taylor has successfully defeated numerous union organizing campaigns. He has defended employers in administrative proceedings before the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the U.S. Department of Labor as well as before various state law agencies in more than 20 states. While employment counsel for Medaphis Corporation, Mr. Taylor was responsible for investigating and handling all employment-related disputes for Medaphis, a company with more than 10,000 employees. In this role, Mr. Taylor developed and implemented nationwide employment law training programs and an ADR program that succeeded in reducing Medaphis's employment-related lawsuits by 75% over two years.
