Michele Stumpe’s practice concentrates on hospitality and dram shop litigation as well as alcohol compliance matters including licensing and consulting. In addition to handling pending legal matters, Stumpe regularly assists numerous hospitality and retail clients by providing counsel on preventative measures, training and policy implementation. Ms. Stumpe is a frequent speaker and consultant for various trade associations including the Georgia Restaurant Association, Georgia Food Industry Association, and Georgia Association of Convenience Stores. In addition, Ms. Stumpe developed the Responsible Alcohol Sales & Service Workshops offered to owners and licensees of alcohol establishments, attendance at which has become mandatory by numerous jurisdictions within the state. Ms. Stumpe is frequently called upon by numerous attorneys and organizations to provide expert testimony and consulting in the field of alcohol compliance. In her spare time, Ms. Stumpe is involved with several charitable causes. She has recently been appointed as the President of the Great Ape Project, International, serves on the Boards of Camp Twin Lakes and Gorilla Haven, is the Director of Cheerleading and Head Cheer Coach at the Northside Youth Organization, the JV Cheerleading Coach at Riverwood High School and serves on the steering committee for the Cobb Underage Drinking Task Force.
Having competed regionally and nationally on the University of South Carolina’s mock trial team, two years in a row, Michele was heavily recruited as a litigator as she was finishing law school. She has lived in Atlanta since her graduation in 1993. When not practicing law, Michele enjoys scuba diving, gardening and playing golf. However, her real passion is her volunteer work. Whether it’s working with the great apes or kids in the community, Michele gives a significant amount of her time to charitable causes throughout the year.
