PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
In 1997, President Bill Clinton and Secretary of Education Richard Riley appointed Marc to serve a three-year term as a Member of the Advisory
Committee on Student Financial Assistance. Marc served with a number of distinguished members of the academic community, including the Chancellor of a large university
system. The Committee was charged with providing advice directly to Congress and the President on all matters relating to financial assistance to students seeking
undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Marc is currently the Vice Consul of Iceland. In this capacity, Marc serves Icelandic citizens in Georgia and surrounding states, assisting in various matters related to
immigration and local laws. In addition, Marc represents the government of Iceland at international and business events in Atlanta and around the United States.
Marc is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Ahavath Achim Synagogue in Atlanta, one of the largest synagogues in the United States.
PROFESSIONAL HONORS
Marc was selected as a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2005 and 2006. Rising Stars are “chosen by their peers as being among the top
up-and-coming lawyers” in Georgia. In addition, Marc was featured in a story entitled ‘A Hotlantan in the Iceland’ in the 2006 edition of the Georgia
Super Lawyers Rising Stars publication
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Marc is a life-long resident of Atlanta and a graduate of Riverwood High School in Sandy Springs. In 1996, Marc earned a B.A., With
Honors, from the University of Texas at Austin. While an undergraduate, Marc served as a White House Intern in Washington, D.C., working as a member of the White House
Office of Press Advance. After graduating from the University of Texas, Marc attended the University of Virginia School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor in 1999.
While at Virginia, Marc was founder and editor-in-chief of the University of Virginia Journal of Sports and the Law.
Marc and his wife, Kimberly, live in Brookhaven with their sons, Jonah and Asher.
