Ms. Livesay represents management in all aspects of labor-management relations, equal employment opportunity and other employment-related issues. She represents a wide range of corporate clients in matters before federal, state and local government agencies and arbitration tribunals and advises clients concerning employment policy design and review. Ms. Livesay has successfully handled numerous employment-related litigation matters in various jurisdictions across the country. She handles both individual lawsuits as well as class action litigation involving discrimination, ERISA, wage complaints, breach of employment contracts, and state tort claims. She also advises clients in the home building and real estate development industries on fair housing issues and defends clients against unfair lending and housing discrimination claims before state and federal agencies. From 1998 – 2006, Ms. Livesay practiced law at Powell Goldstein, LLP, one of Atlanta’s oldest and largest firms, where she was an associate. Prior to practicing law, she was involved in private business enterprises for approximately fifteen years.
In the area of general client advice, Ms. Livesay’s experience includes employment discrimination, drug and alcohol issues and policies, wage and hour compliance, Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, Fair Housing Act compliance, unemployment compensation, severance agreements, and restrictive covenants. She has advised clients from a wide variety of industries, ranging from blue collar to traditional office environments, in both the public and private sectors. Ms. Livesay also assists clients with conducting internal investigations into allegations of harassment and discrimination involving management and senior personnel and counsels clients on handling reductions-in-force.
